If there really are teams that build strictly through the draft, the New York Giants are one of them. They take care of their own and generally don’t look to give big contracts to outside free agents. That’s what I believe they’re doing here as Pierre-Paul comes off of a solid season where he had 12 sacks.

But they didn’t take care of former teammate Justin Tuck, who came off of a productive season last year. That was because they weren’t going to have room for him and Pierre-Paul and Tuck under the cap so they planned for this year. Pierre-Paul is only 26 to Tuck’s 31 so you can see why they would choose one over the other.

Pierre-Paul is going to help bring the Giants right back to being contenders after a couple of off-years. Franchise quarterback Eli Manning will lead a high-powered offense that will have receiver Victor Cruz back to go with Odell Beckham Jr. on offense. All they need to do is draft Pierre-Paul some help on the d-line and their ready to go again.
