Every once and a while, the NFL gets players that come out of nowhere and light up the NFL. They already come in with chips on their shoulders because they didn’t end up at the school they wanted. And as they come out of college, many ask questions about their ability to play with the big boys, making that chip bigger.
But first, they need an opportunity and it starts with the collegiate All-Star Games. Tight end Mycole Pruitt came from FCS school Southern Illinois to play in the Senior Bowl and belonged. And Hobart center Ali Marpet came from Division III Hobart to play in the Senior Bowl, proving he belonged too.
Then they were invited to the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine and there, they showed they really belonged.
