Winston’s Day Throwing

It has been reported that Winston is a gamer and he doesn’t usually do too well in shorts. We’ve already seen what he does when the game is on the line so that observation from a scout that has seen him in a camp makes sense. Mariota is known to look good in shorts so I watched with curious eyes as Winston went head to head with him.

And I guess competing is competing for Winston because he was on as he came out on top. Mariota improved with his accuracy and looks okay learning the footwork of NFL style quarterbacking. But Winston was obviously more comfortable with his footwork, has more arm-strengh and accuracy.

But the biggest edge Winston had was being used to throwing with anticipation for where the receiver was going. He threw the ball before his receiver made his break while Mariota waited on his man to make his break. But the biggest thing was that he improved too, showing a much quicker release than he had shown prior to the combine.
