Here is one scenario of the 2015 free agency period as just about anything is possible right now. With all of the money they have under the cap and have to spend, the Raiders, Jaguars and Falcons will improved the most. The Falcons don’t have as much room as the other two teams but they have more to start with.
So I would look for the Falcons to get themselves into the playoffs based on this scenario and a good draft with it. The Raiders have the most money under the cap and have to spend it so they end up improving the most. But that doesn’t just put them over the Broncos, who won Super Bowls with the last coach that brought zone-blocking.
And the Broncos will still have problems with the Patriots, who just got another weapon in Percy Harvin. Say what you want about Mark Sanchez but he was a playoff quarterback when he was with Rex Ryan and Buffalo’s defense is strikingly similar to what Ryan had in New York. The Seattle Seahawks getting a big-time tight end will keep them in the championship conversation.
Bottom team seem to get better while top teams seem to keep their edge.
Can’t wait until next year.
