At the Combine

During the weigh-in and measurements at the combine, he showed he had that aforementioned “ideal size.” His 23 reps of 225 wasn’t a show of superior upper-body strength but it shows he has enough. Then of course, he confirmed what I saw on tape with a 4.56 40-yard dash to show he can go sideline-to-sideline.

His 37-inch vertical leap was a show of lower-body explosion that linebackers use to hit people. His 3-cone drill-time of 7.07 and best-at-his-position 4.03 in the 20-yard shuttle was right there with the receivers. That was a display that he can change direction and accelerate out of a break, a trait he can use in coverage.
