The 2015 NFL Scouting Combine has caused many changes in this version of my NFL Mock Draft 2015. Jameis Winston remains at No. 1 because what he did at the combine makes it a waste of time to put anyone else in that spot. He went to the combine in great shape, threw with accuracy and velocity and nailed the interviews with the media.
He really separated himself from No. 2 quarterback prospect Marcus Mariota on the blackboard with former NFL head coach Steve Mariucci. He had answers to every question Mariucci had and didn’t go for the traps Mariucci had for him. It was telling that they didn’t ask Mariota to go on the blackboard with pro style Xs and Os.
Enough of the quarterbacks as there were plenty of other players that helped themselves. It wasn’t just the combine, it was the tape that their combine performances made scouts go back look at that elevated them. Some guys were just a little freakier athletically than we thought along with the skill they showed on tape.
