I thought Mariota looked really good at the combine with the footwork he’s learning to take snaps under center. But he will be challenged with the Xs and Os part of the game as well as throwing the ball before the receiver makes his break. That’s what Winston showed he was good with as well as having his big arm and accuracy.
But there’s no shame it going No. 2 overall as Mariota’s improvements got the NFL’s attention. Now, I would really be surprised if Mariota went lower than No. 2 overall as the Titans have a quarterback from the seventh round coming off AC-joint surgery. And beyond the quarterbacks, we always new about the pass-rushers but the receivers and corners really made their way up draft boards.
And will there be not only one but two running backs taken in the first round?
There’s a case for three!
