Not long ago, I was a little frustrated with the lack of urgency McKenzie showed to extend center Stefen Wisniewski. I know he isn’t great but wanted him to stay so the Raiders could have some continuity playing together on the offensive line. Pro Football Focus gave Wisniewksi the grade of an average center and he was only looking for the salary of an average center.

I thought, “Wow! Is this going to be Jared Veldheer all over again!” as the Raiders were lucky to get Donald Penn afterwards. Then as the days went on, I stared to see that McKenzie is up to something much better than Wisniewski. CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported his interest in him saying, “I continue to hear the Raiders are looking hard at [Hudson] him.”

It looks like the Raiders are really going for quality over quantity as Hudson is one of the best centers in the game. Like most Raiders fans, I was into the Raiders bloodlines but to keep it 100, Wisniewksi isn’t on Steve Wisniewksi’s level. And since he didn’t take whatever McKenzie offered, he should go ahead and take a chance on getting someone better.
