Tight end Mychal Rivera can’t catch and can’t block but otherwise, he has the potential to be great. I’m still trying to understand why Raiders fans celebrate him like he’s something special. He’s not even a good No. 2 tight end as the Raiders are expected to land Julius Thomas in free agency.

So the Raiders get a No. 2 tight end in the draft in Jesse James as he isn’t special but can catch and block. And at 6’7″, he’s good red-zone target out of those jumbo, goal line sets to score points. Thomas isn’t the greatest blocker in the world so it would be nice to have a blocking tight end that isn’t a dead give-away that it’s a run-play too.
