Defense

If there are any Jets fans out there that are concerned about the defense with Ryan now gone, don’t be. Not only is Bowles a good defensive coach but he also loves to blitz so he fits the personnel Ryan left behind. The Jets already kept Harris away from Ryan and all they need now is an edge-rusher and secondary piece.

They can take care of the edge-rusher next week with Pernell McPhee, who had 7.5 sacks in 2014 as a backup. Then for the secondary that really cost the Jets because of injuries can all be back plus one if they re-sign safety Dawan Landry. That plus one is corner Antonio Cromartie, who reportedly wants leave the Arizona Cardinals to follow Bowles to New York.

ESPN.com reported teammate Patrick Peterson saying, “I’m definitely trying to keep him here. It’s going to be tough, especially with Todd [Bowles] being in New York and he loves New York. That’s all he talks about is freaking New York. I’m definitely trying to get him to stay and we’ll see what happens.”
