Quarterback Option No. 1

I have Geno Smith as quarterback option No. 1 because he’s already there on the team. Smith is the Jets 2013 second-round draft pick and a quarterback picked that early usually get three years. This would be his third year but since the Bowles and Jets new G.M. Mike Maccagnan are now there, nothing is promised.

Smith struggled this year overall but kinda made a case for himself down the stretch of the season. In the last four games of the season, Smith went 2-2, completing 65 percent of his passes for 1,001 yards, six touchdowns, two interceptions and a quarterback rating of 105.3. He closed the season with 353 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions against the Miami Dolphins.

The new regime has to somehow figure out if it was just a good stretch of play or if Smith figured it out. If he did, the Jets have their quarterback and got him a weapon to throw to along with a good defense. They probably have to address the offensive line too but if they don’t think he’s figured it out, it’s time to do some deals.
