Other Quarterback Options

The Jets are sitting on the No. 6 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to be there for him by most these days. So the Jets could take him and bet on the upside he has, perhaps putting in an offense more for him. But I can’t see a defensive minded head coach like Bowls wanting a rookie, especially not one that’s so far behind fundamentally.

I’m really wondering what the Bears are going to do with Jay Cutler out there in Chicago. I keep hearing they may trade him or release him so I’m wondering what the interest level is in New York. I’m not calling Cutler the next Joe Namath but he is a veteran that’s had some success and can dial it down to manage the game with the defense he would have.

What I would do is get on the phone with the Philadelphia Eagles, who we all know want Mariota. They can trade down for extra picks and quarterback Nick Fowles, who I believe can get it done. Then the Jets can address other needs like offensive line in the draft while they already have a solid quarterback.
