The Miami Dolphins were not to be left behind in the AFC East, making their big free agent splash. First, there was the trade heard around the NFL world with LeSean McCoy going from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Buffalo Bills for inside linebacker Kiko Alonzo. Soon after, the New York Jets sent a fifth-round pick to the Chicago Bears for receiver Brandon Marshall.

The Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, who need little more than to keep their team together. They did some of that today by re-signing safety Devin McCourty to a five-year, $47 million contract with $28 million guaranteed. So with the pressure on to keep up with the rest of the division, the Dolphins appear to be getting Ndamukong Suh, the big dog in free agency.

The record breaking deal is going to be for $19 million a year and and $60 million guaranteed. Many around the league are saying the Dolphins overpaid Suh and the move doesn’t make the Dolphins AFC West Champions. To that, I say, no move wins a division, winning games as a team during the season does but Suh will give the Dolphins a chance.
