Jacksonville Jaguars Getting Better

Julius Thomas
I’m not sure tight end Julius Thomas is worth $9 million a year but the Jags have plenty of money. And like hip-hop artist Ice Cube once said in a song, “It ain’t trickin’ if you got it.” Quarterbacks need a security blanket and that’s exactly what Thomas will be for 2014 first-round pick Blake Bortles.
The only thing here is that the Jags better do something about their offensive line’s run-blocking. Unless he’s been doing something we don’t know about, Thomas won’t help at all in run-blocking. But the Jags are paying Thomas to be a weapon in the passing game to go along with receivers Allen Hurns, Marquise Lee and possibly Justin Blackmon.
Owner Shad Khan was asked by the Florida Times-Union if he would welcome back the suspended wide and he said, “Absolutely, as a matter of fact, I’m very optimistic. I think he’s paid his dues. I think he’s got his life together. I think he can be a role model for people who have gone through hard times. We’re waiting for him.”
