The Eagles are on the verge on signing former Dallas Cowboys running back Demarco Murray. He’s in the building in Philadelphia to sign that big contract Sports Center tweeted. Murray lead the NFL in rushing in 2014 and he doesn’t dance so this is an upgrade.
He also played in the spread while in school at Oklahoma so the scheme-fit is there for the Eagles. This is a move that really does it for the Eagles because they strengthen themselves while weakening the Cowboys. Kelly always knew he could find a back that fits his system better than McCoy but this the perfect replacement.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who piked receiver Jeremy Maclin in the first round in 2009, stole Maclin for $11 million. I wouldn’t match that for a receiver that had only one 1,000-yard season in his career either. So Kelly is right in this instance as he can get a receiver at No. 20 in the draft that fit his system.
