McFadden Gets an Offense

McFadden will not have the pressure on him he had in Oakland as the 2008 No. 4 overall pick. And he’s not expected to be the offense for the Cowboys that have names like Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten on it. The best receiver McFadden ever played with was Darrius Heyward-Bey and the best tight end he ever played with was Zach Miller.

The best quarterback he played with was Jason Campbell as he was injured most of the time for Carson Palmer. The best offensive lineman McFadden ever played with were tackle Jared Veldheer and center Steven Wisniewksi. Both of them are the epitome of average NFL starter and neither of them ever came close to a Pro Bowl.

But in center Travis Fredrick, guard Zack Martin and tackle Tyron Smith, McFadden will have and offensive line with three Pro Bowl players. McFadden needs that because he’s not the kind of running back that makes something out of nothing. He needs help getting to the second level and once he’s there, there’s a good chance that he takes it to the house.
