 Joe Barksdale

I’m still trying to figure out what in the world happened with free agent right tackle Joe Barksdale. Going into free agency, by many in the media, he was set to be the top right tackle on the market. Yet here we are after all the big dogs in free agency are gone and Barksdale remains unsigned.

There are tackles out there that aren’t as good as he is that have gone on to sign with a team. According to Rotoworld NBC Sports, Barksdale hasn’t so much went on to visit a team’s headquarters. According to CBS Sports, Barksdale got married Saturday and will be on his honeymoon the next few days.

Is that what slowed down his negotiations?

Was he originally looking for too much money?

The Rams have remained interested in bringing him back throughout but obviously at the right price. Faith, family, football is the order so there’s nothing wrong with putting his honeymoon before negotiations. But one has to wonder if he did so knowing he’s going back to the Rams because that’s his best fit.
