Former New England Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork just signed a two-year contract to probably end his illustrious career with the Houston Texans. I thought that Wilfork would fit best with the Indianapolis Colts  because of his relationship with receiver Andre Johnson and and running back Frank Gore from their days at the University of Miami. The Colts also might have become the favorites to win the AFC South since Gore and Johnson came on board.

But instead, the run-stuffer has decided to take on the challenge of stopping Gore in their AFC South battles. Plus as illustrated in a tweet posted by SiriusXM NFL Radio, the waters from his days in New England winning Super Bowls with a good portion of the Texans’ coaching staff run deeper than that. It also doesn’t hurt to work with a guy like J.J. Watt and the rest of the front-seven the Texans have.

I believe in quarterback Ryan Mallet so on offense, their going to be fine as receiver Cecil Shorts will join DeAndre Hopkins. The Texans will now get the run-stuffer they need to slow Gore down along with a guy to push the pocket back. As much as Wilfork is going to help the Texans, the move for Wilfork does more to keep the Colts from being overwhelming favorites to win the AFC.
