Winston’s Journey

Winston also redshirted his first year but the next year, as a redshirt freshman in 2013, he balled out. He went 14-0, took his Florida State Seminoles to a national title while throwing for 4,057 yards 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. And the cherry on top for the season was Winston being the winner of the Heisman trophy.

In 2014,with an inferior team around him, Winston lost to Mariota and the Oregon Ducks in the playoffs. But he threw for 3,907 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions willing his team to an undefeated regular season with four fourth-quarter comebacks. For his college career, he went 26-1, threw for 7,964 yards, 65 touchdowns and 28 interceptions in two years in a pro style offense.

Now poised to be picked No. 1 overall by the Buccaneers, Winston will go to a team that was 2-14 the previous year. But he’ll have weapons as receivers Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson will be there. He’s also going to the NFC South, a bad division just like the AFC South is so don’t be surprised to see him take the Buccaneers to the playoffs.
