All the players and coaches with the exception of the New England Patriots have to live with the results of the the 2014 season. Everything is evaluated after the season and these organizations  have all kinds of decisions to make. The owner decides if he’s going to keep his G.M. and the G.M. decides if he’s going to going to keep his head coach.

Then the G.M. and head coach have to make decisions on the players they’re going to continue on with. It’s all about your division so how each player causes you to match up with a division rival has everything to do with it. In the ’60s, Hall of Fame guard Gene Upshaw was drafted to block Hall of Fame defensive tackle Buck Buchanan.

Buchanan was a one-man wrecking crew on the Raiders offense and kept the Raiders from winning the AFL. He was 6’7″, 270 pounds, quick off the ball, powerful and had tremendous closing speed. But once the Raiders got Upshaw, who was 6’5″, 260 pounds with great power and quickness, the Raiders contained Buchanan and won the AFL.

So far this offseason, we’ve already had a chance to see how each team plans to attack each other. The coaching hires, trades, cuts and free agency signings all have their place in how things play out. Obviously, teams build through the draft but what happens before the draft pick dictates how they draft.

So I have looked in on what each team in the AFC West has done this offseason.
