State of the Chiefs:
The Kansas City Chiefs looked like a playoff team at one point in 2014 then lost their way and didn’t make it. You would think they really hurt their chances by letting center Rodney Hudson walk. But the Chiefs really like Eric Kush and believe he’s ready to be the guy going forward so we’ll see.

The two problems the Chiefs have are stopping the run and throwing touchdowns to receivers. I don’t think re-signing Josh Mauga is the answer to stopping run the so they must plan on getting help with that in the draft. And as for throwing touchdowns to receivers, they addressed that in a big way with signing receiver Jeremy Maclin.

But there’s more than one side to it so one has to wonder if Alex Smith is part of if not the problem. You really have to wonder how it’s going to work with Maclin being a deep threat when Smith doesn’t throw the ball down the field. If head coach Andy Reid can work his quarterback magic with Smith way he has with other quarterbacks, they Chiefs can go far.
