The Chargers lost Ryan Mathews in the offseason and will be looknig for someone that can pick up the slack in the running game. Gordon would take the starting role with the team. The Chargers are going to lean on the running game more this season and would rather take the safer selection of Gordon over the selection of Todd Gurley.
