OT. Stanford. Andrus Peat. 1. player. 15.
Though it wasn’t an urgent need the New Orleans Saints took left tackle Andrus Peat with the No. 13 pick in the draft. The Saints simply viewed the “dancing bear” as the best player on the board. However, guard is a need and the selection of Peat can make one of their current tackles a candidate to move to guard.

With their second pick in the first round, the Saints got a good football player in inside linebacker Stephone Anthony to fill and urgent need. The Saints were up against the cap at the end of the season so Curtis Lofton’s fat contract had to go. Drafting Anthony to replace him wasn’t a bad way to go as he may well be the steal of the draft.

Speaking of steal, the Saints snatched edge-rusher, Hau’oli Kikaha, who led the nation in sacks, in the second round. With their second third-round pick, they got and P.J. Williams, another good football player that will help right away. Their first third-round pick, quarterback Garrett Grayson, will eventually replace Brees as they got plent of help for right now.
