1. player. 13.
The San Diego Chargers have Phillip Rivers and that top-10 passing offense to go with their top-10 pass defense. But to go far in the NFL, you have top be able to run and stop the run, so the Chargers took care of the run part in the first round. They selected running back Melvin Gordon, who not only has the production and abilities that translate.

In the second round, Chargers took inside linebacker Denzell Perryman, who’s getting knocked for his small, 5’11”, 236-pound size. But Chris Borland proved last year that an inside linebacker could do it at that size and Perryman may be better. I didn’t see anything else in their draft that I liked but you never know what’s coming out of there.

The Chargers don’t really need that much as they fell just short of the playoffs in 2014. With their first two picks alone, they could become serious contenders as they could then run the ball and stop the run. And the same two things that cost the Chargers the playoffs in 2014 are what get teams far in the playoffs.
. RB. Wisconsin. Melvin Gordon
