30. player. 49.
Green Bay Packers G.M. Ted Thompson is known to always get the best player available, regardless of need. And that has worked for Thompson as the Packers are perennial contenders for a reason. So even though free safety Ha Ha Clinton Dix is on the Pro Football Writers All-Rookie team, the Packers took free safety Damarious Randall in the first round.

In the second round, the Packers chose corner Quinten Rollins, the former basketball player. The Packers are good and teaching the cornerback position and Rollins is an outstanding athlete. So this pick will probably produce a Pro Bowl corner at some point in his time with the Packers.

In the third round, the Packers selected Ty Montgomery, who was a projected first-round pick before his bad senior year. But that bad senior year was at receiver and he proved to still be a dangerous return man, what the Packers picked him for. It doesn’t look like the Packers did much to help themselves in this draft but they already have a contending team.
. S. Arizona State. Damarious Randall
