The #Cowboys deal for #LSU OL La’El Collins is for 3 years, fully guaranteed, per source. (@NFLCharean had it first)

If you can believe this, the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line has gotten even better today. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Cowboys have signed the former LSU tackle La’el Collins will sign a three-year deal. All this for a team that already has one of the NFL’s most dominant offensive lines.
The deal is worth a fully guaranteed $1.7 million, an unprecedented number for a undrafted player. And it was the max that Collins or any other undrafted player could have been offered. But right now, Collins is still trying to clear his name in the murder investigation of ex-girlfriend Brittany Mills.
Collins is not currently considered a suspect fo murdering Mills, 29 and pregnant at the time of her death. Rapoport reported on Wednesday that test results showed Collins is not the father of the baby who also died in Baton Rouge. If it weren’t for the legal situation delaying Collins’ entry into the NFL, Collins might have been a top-10 pick.
But the Cowboys, who always pounce when a player has drama around him, get a steal here. Owner Jerry Jones already gambled on Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory in the second-round of this year’s draft. So what’s one more gamble on another top-10 talent that they didn’t even have to spend a draft pick on.
If all this works out, you can say the Cowboys got three first-round picks for the price of one. And at least on paper, it would have to be considered the best offensive line in football. They compared that offensive line to the one they had in the 90s already so imagine what they’re going to say with Collins there.
