Starting in 2013, Oakland Raiders G.M. Reggie McKenzie has done well, building the team through the draft. Picks from the 2013 and 2014 classes shined in their three wins in the last six games. And those wins were against teams with tough defenses that were in playoff contention until the Raiders beat them.
Those that just see the 3-13 record believe the Raiders are a long way away but that’s really not the case. As the last two draft classes grow and the haul they made in free agency this offseason, the Raiders are close. The Raiders ended up with 10 players from the last two drafts making solid contributions.
Eight of them are legitimate starters and the 2015 draft looks to have brought in the same level of players 2013-2014 did. There are five in particular, four starters, that I expect to make big impacts right away. And with that happening, the Raiders’ turnaround is sure to come this year.
I’m not sure when the Raiders will see another Super Bowl but this team is built now!
