I.
The Houston Texans used their No. 1 overall pick on the overhyped Jadeveon Clowney in 2014. All you saw from Clowney leading up to the draft was the one play where he knocked the ball carrier’s helmet off. They replayed it over and over and over again and dubbed him as the next Lawrence Taylor.

I’m not saying Clowney isn’t a great prospect but that’s too much hype over one play from 2012. And to make it worse, it was a play he should have made because no one even tried to block him. And he didn’t do much his last year in college with only three sacks while missing a little time many believe he didn’t have to miss.

But the Texans still believed the hype on him and after opening day, he didn’t play until the eighth game of the season. And after that, he played in games 10-11 and had to shut it down, all because of a knee that required microfracture surgery. He didn’t look like the next L.T. when he played either but I have to give him and incomplete after only four games.
. OLB. Houston Texans. JADEVEON CLOWNEY
