That should help quarterback E.J. Manuel get it together and if not, Matt Cassel can at least give Watkins a fighting chance. Either way, Watkins showed he has a bright, explosive future ahead of him. He was definitely worth trading up for and I have to give the Bills the highest of marks for that.

Receiver Sammy Watkins, the No. 4 overall pick, went in to the draft as the best at his position. And after one year of play, he’s done nothing to dispel that notion with 982 yards receiving. I understand he was outdone statistically by other rookie receivers but they had better quarterbacks.
Watkins had to deal with two different quarterbacks this year, none of them looking like they’re starter caliber. But Watkins did flashed as much as he was given a chance to and the Buffalo Bills almost made the playoffs. And now, the have Rex Ryan to guide that defense that’s already good along with running back LeSean McCoy.
