I don’t know anyone that had quarterback Marcus Mariota ranked No. 2 as an NFL prospect. However, he is a potential franchise quarterback and when you have one those available, you have to take him. Only a team that feels like they have their franchise quarterback already would turn one down early in the draft.

I’ve said repeatedly in previous articles that Mariota was a developmental project at quarterback. I also said his best chances to succeed early would be with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans or the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles are obious with Chip Kelly, then you have Andy Reid in Kansas City and Ken Whisenhunt in Tennessee that know how to develop quarterbacks.

This isn’t to say he’s going to do what Andrew Luck did or what I believe Jameis Winston will do.

But I will say don’t underestimate Mariota and the Titans.

Turn he page to see why.
