While at Alabama, Cooper was about as good and as polished a receiver as you are ever going to see. And he used every bit of that polish as in three years, he had 3,463 yards and 31 touchdowns. He capped it off with 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2014 to win the Biletnikoff Award for best receiver in the nation.

Yes, the statistics are phenomenal but even better is the way the was able to rack up these statistics. Cooper was so uncoverable, he pulled off his incredible season without a real quarterback. Sims was a running back that gave the Crimson Tide depth at quarterback until they couldn’t find anyone to replace A.J. McCarron.

Sims, who moved back to running back in the NFL, handled his part because Cooper got wide open. He’s a Jerry Rice-like route-runner who consistently finds a way to shake corners off his trail. If he had a legitimate NFL prospect at quarterback, he might have amassed over, 2,000 yards receiving in 2014.
