Bottom Line

Easing Flowers in at left tackle after some development isn’t going to work for the Giants anymore. The injury to Beatty means the Giants are going to have to treat him like the top-10 pick he is. The good thing is he already has the size, agility, strength, length, and mean streak for the position.

It also helps that he came from a pro style offense that features similar blocking schemes to the Giants. Focusing on just technique instead of having worry about getting the scheme down will help. It would really be bad if he still had to develop something physically but if that were the case, the Giants wouldn’t have taken him in the top 10.

He now has the same pressure the rest of the top 10 picks have.

We’ll see what he does with it soon enough.

My money is on Flowers.
