 Agility and Balance

Last year, I was a prisoner of the moment and predicted that Murray would be a star in 2015. But after going back and watching all the tape from last year, he’s really not as special as I thought. His vision, patience, cutback ability and 4.3 40 speed are special but he’s missing the most important things.

Murray can find the hole but needs a big one and will only make it all the way if no one is in front of him. He can’t get make guys miss in the secondary, in the hole or the backfield to make plays. His best runs came when he went untouched into the secondary against bad run defenses and he never made something out of nothing.

Richardson, one the other hand, is one of the best broken field runners in the NFL today. He has excellent agility and knows how to use it to make guys miss and balance to not get tripped up on arm tackles to his legs. Murray has no broken field moves and when he’s in the secondary, he gets tackled by one man.
