Now we know why return man Trindon Holliday was signed.

If former Oakland Raiders WR/KR Andre Debose didn’t have bad Luck, he wouldn’t have any luck at all. He was waived today because an injured Achilles tendon that will have him out for the season. Debose has a history of horrific leg injuries that come at the worst possible time they can happen.

He was dubbed “the next Percy Harvin” by then head coach Urban Meyer as a five-star recruit out of high school. Debose then showed promise right away but his first year was cut short due to a torn hamstring tendon. He then came back and did damage, making big plays for the next couple of years but that came to a halt.

Debose would go on to miss another season at Florida, that time with a torn ACL. And just as all that were watching were impressed by Debose at the Raiders rookie minicamp and OTAs. But the injury bug bit him again and he is dealing with a torn Achilles tendon, another major injury to one of his legs. He is already 24.

Be it that he was really impressing in OTAs, Debose’s injury is a blow for the Raiders. But since the Raiders are deep at receiver now, the Raiders will be able to easily absorb such a blow. And if a 29-year-old former return star with the Denver Broncos can bring back some of that old magic, the blow will be even better absorbed.

But he has been cut three times in the past year so stay tuned.
