It all started in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft when the Raiders selected quarterback Derek Carr. His brother David Carr was the No. 1 overall at quarterback for the Houston Texans in 2002. So he came up with a big head start on all of the ins and outs of playing quarterback in the NFL.

Carr was even in the film room with his older brother at age 12 breaking down the complex NFL defenses. So he was extremely polished as a rookie and handled going to a team without weapons well. He was so polished, he went through his progressions quickly and led the NFL by getting sacked only 10 percent of the time he was pressured.

And make no mistake, he checked the ball down often as his primary receivers were hardly ever open. But he put up some respectable numbers for a quarterback with no real talent around him.  He threw for 3,270 yards, 21 touchdowns to only 12 interceptions, completing 58 percent of his passes.
