Oct 30, 2014; Louisville, KY, USA; Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston (5) against the Louisville Cardinals at Papa John

College

Winston is one of only eight quarterbacks in the history of college football to win the Heisman Trophy and National Championship in the same season in 2013. In 2014, Winston lost a lot of starters to the NFL and he failed to repeat as the National Champion. But continued to lift his team above and beyond, routinely snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Winston brought his team back from second-half deficits to win the game on seven occasions in 2014. If that isn’t enough to tell you he is a winner, how about 26-1 total record with the Florida State Seminoles. He completed 66 percent of his passes for almost 8,000 yards, 65 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

These are all big-time numbers from a college quarterback but the way he does it is bigger. He’s not along the lines of an Andre Ware or David Klingler from the run-and-shoot offense or Vince Young from the spread option. Winston won his Heisman Trophy and National Championship playing like a pro quarterback from a pro style offense.
