Tight End

Bleacher Report’s Russell S. Baxter named tight end Mychal Rivera as the Raiders most overrated player. Well, it sure looks like Bleacher Report got that one right because he’s not that good. What I mean by that is if you listen to Greg Papa or Rich Gannon talk about him when broadcasting Raiders games, you’d think he’s as good as Rob Gronkowski and he isn’t even close.

He’ll make a play here and there when the defense forgets to cover him but he isn’t consistent as a pass-catcher. And if you don’t run-block well, you better be a consistent pass-catcher or your just another tight end. But the Raiders no longer have to worry about the tight end position as they got Clive Walford, the best tight end in the 2015 NFL Draft.

He had the best numbers, the lowest drop rate, was the best route runner and at the same time, blocked well. He owns all the tight end records at the University of Miami, where Kellen Winslow Jr., Jeremy Shockey, Greg Olson, and Jimmy Graham all went. That goes to show you what type of talent Walford is and Carr will have to work the middle of the field on third down.
