Tennessee Titans quaterback Marcus Mariota is going to make to his first training camp on time. The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday that they have signed the No. 2 overall pick to a contract.  It took almost two months longer to hammer out Marcus Mariota contract than it did No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston’s.

The problem was a bit of protection for the Titans in case Mariota gets cut during his rookie contract. The Titans aren’t going to cut Mariota during his rookie year so that’s no real sticking point. And there really isn’t a whole lot to negotiate monetarily for a first-round because of the rookie salary cap.

Mariota was the last of the 2015 first-round picks to sign on the dotted line so there will be no first-round training camp holdouts. And Mariota is more than thankful to not be a holdout before his rookie year, especially with Zach Mettenberger lurking. NFL.com quoted him as saying, “Thank you to the Tennessee Titans organization as well as my agent for making a dream come true,”

With this bit of business out of the way, Mariota’s chance of being a bust just went down a little. And with target like with receivers Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, rookie Dorial Green-Beckham and tight end Delanie Walker, Mariota is even less likely to be a bust. After originally hearing he was struggling with calling plays and footworkt the word now is he has picked up Whisenhunt’s offense quickly this offseason

It won’t be long before we find out what’s really going on!
