Amari Cooper

Michael Crabtree is getting all the props this training camp for going up to make acrobatic catches. Yes, he’s back to making the same types of catches he made before his Achilles tendon surgery. But 2015 No. 4 overall Amari Cooper deserves his props too as no one can keep up with him in coverage.

While Crabtree makes outstanding catches while covered, Cooper gets he’s wide open for normal catches. On one particular play I saw on Raiders.com, Cooper abused Keith McGill, the team’s best corner in camp so far. He shook McGill out of his jock at the line of scrimmage and again at the top of his route.

The end result was Cooper making an easy catch while McGill wasn’t even on the screen anymore. Cooper wasn’t known for making acrobatic catches because he got so wide open when in college. If the training camp Cooper is having is any indication of what he’ll do this season, that will continue.
