17. San Diego Chargers- Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State

The San Diego Chargers need to add some beef and physicality along the defensive line. Penn State’s Austin Johnson is the perfect candidate to fill that need. He’s big-bodied defensive tackle who excels at stopping the run.

Johnson does a great job occupying blockers and holding at the point of attack. However, it’s his ability to disengage and make plays away from his frame that makes him special. This is the type of defensive tackle who’ll make his presence known.

Plugging him in the middle of that defense will take pressure off the linebackers and fellow defensive linemen. He might not be on the national draft radar at the moment but look for him to rise up draft boards as the season progresses.
