7. Oakland Raiders- Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida
When the Oakland Raiders decided to make D.J. Hayden the 12th pick in the 2013 draft it was a bit of a surprise. His injury history and lack of polish made this a really risky selection. So far, Hayden has failed to meet expectations and is heading into a make-or-break season.
Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves III is the premier cornerback in the 2016 draft. He’s a fluid athlete who has great instincts and feel for the position. Hargreaves has the potential to develop into a true shut-down corner.
Adding a top-level talent to the back end of the defense could be one of the last pieces needed to make Oakland’s defense elite.
