McCown Falls Back

When a youngster plays a clean game and the vet throws an interception, questions will be asked. McCown threw two interceptions, one not his fault, but that will still double all the questions. Outside the interceptions, McCown looked okay but didn’t seem to be able to handle the rush well.

At 36, he looks like he’s still pretty athletic but he seemed to trip over himself at times with the heat on. And even at his advanced age, the decisions he makes with the heat on him don’t end well. Yeah, he’s a vet that knows how to prepare and read defenses but when the heat is one him, he too often throws a bad ball.

With the exception of one year, this is who McCown has always been so there’s no reason to believe that will change. Pettine sold McCown to be the guy that the Browns can win with but on that’s McCown. After one big year in 2013 he went back to himself in 2014 and doesn’t look any different for 2015.
