The New Orleans Saints need to keep quarterback 36-year-old Drew Brees around as long as possible. And the best way to do that is to keep him clean with the best pass protection they can give him. The Saints are good at left tackle but Zach Strief the starting right tackle, has been in the NFL 10 years.

That’s an age that you don’t know when a player’s prime ends and when it falls it falls fast. So the Saints took Andrus Peat No. 13 overall with hopes that he takes the right tackle job. But two games into the preseason, Peat hasn’t been able to take anything from Strief.

As a matter of fact, Peat struggled with his conditioning of all things at the beginning of training camp. But he has managed to do well, albeit mostly against the twos, in both of the Saints preseason games. I like the progress Peat has shown but he and the Saints grade is a C- as I need to see more good work against starters.
. OT. New Orleans Saints. ANDRUS PEAT. C-
