EDGE. Atlanta Falcons. VIC BEASLEY. A.
Atlanta Falcons head coach Dann Quinn went into the draft needing a hybrid DE/OLB for his defense. And when you have a guy with freak strength, athleticism and skills to go with it, you have to take him. So after seeing his strength and athleticism at the combine and skills on tape, he took Vic Bealsey No. 8 overall.

I always thought that Beasley was the best edge-rusher in the this year’s draft even over Fowler. He may be a little on the light side for an edge rusher but he is strong and has no problems against the run. And on Friday night, you can see why they took him so high with the burst he has off the edge.

And with it, he has plenty of counter-moves like spinning back inside, for one of his quarterback hits. He also had a pass batted down at the line of scrimmage to further make his presence felt. Friday night combined with the preseason opener and everything else I’ve seen and heard gives him an A so far.
