The reclamation project the Oakland Raiders had with 2012 No. 3 overall Trent Richardson came to a merciful end. Richardson, who just hasn’t been able to get it going since coming to the NFL was cut today. Richardson was only guaranteed $6oo,000 and the Raiders still $20 million below the cap so no worries there.

But Richardson, already considered a bust looks like he’s already run out of chances in the NFL. The perception around the NFL may still very well be, “If he can’t make the Raiders, he can’t play.” But that’s not the case anymore as Latavius Murray looks like the truth after a mini-breakout last year.

And behind him will be Roy Helu and Taiwan Jones with fullback Marcel Reece able to step in when need be. The fact that Richardson didn’t make it out of the Raiders’ first round of cuts tells us they’re very happy with their running back room. I thought Richardson was actually going to do something with the Raiders until I actually saw him.

And when I went to Buffalo Wild Wings, they gave me an order of Buffalo style crows’ feet instead of wings. Their actually not that bad when you dip them in ranch or blue cheese so I survived. At 25, Richardson is still young enough to catch on somewhere but fighting the perception from being cut twice in a row doesn’t bode well for him.

Will his 15-yard run Sunday night get him another look?
