B. <p>The New York Giants took the 6’6″, 329-pound offensive tackle Eric Flowers No. 9 overall. And the plan was to have him on the right side while they have Will Beatty at the left tackle spot. The two were supposed to be the book-ends of this offensive line to protect quarterback Eli Manning and open holes in the run-game.</p> <p>But that plan was laid to rest quickly when Beatty tore his pectoral muscle back in May. Flowers struggled in camp with a hip-flexor injury, and wasn’t that impressive in the preseason opener. The rookie left tackle held his own on Saturday night against a dominant Jets defensive line. Flowers did get pushed into the backfield by Muhammad Wilkerson while missing a stunt for a sack. But overall, he still looked like a promising left tackle and should fill in fine for Beatty this year.
