RB. San Diego Chargers. MELVIN GORDON. B-.
The San Diego Chargers missed the playoffs by one game last year, losing a few close games in the process. A big part of the problem is they didn’t have the running game to put games away. Meanwhile, running back Melvin Gordon was showing the world he’s one of the greatest college running backs in history.

In the 2015 NFL Draft, where the Chargers took Gordon with the No. 15 overall to get the running game going. And it looked like an awesome pick for the Chargers and probably helped quarterback Philip Rivres sign his extension. The move should also help the Chargers become a playoff team this year and a tough out at that.

The vision, burst and moves Gordon has got the team’s and observers’ attention at training camp. Despite his paltry numbers in the dress rehearsal, he did show those same traits he’s known for. It’s pretty rare a starting running back puts up big numbers in the preseason with so few carries.
