LAKEN TOMLISON. B.
All reports have been that the Detriot Lions liked what they saw in No. 28 overall Laken Tomlinson. The Lions took the No. 1 guard prospect because they want to be able to run the ball more. They also need protection up the middle so Stafford doesn’t get too much pressure right in his face.

Starting off, Tomlinson looked pretty good but it was against the twos as he had not cracked the starting lineup. But in the dress rehearsal against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tomlinson started at left guard. And he rewarded the Lions by reminding them of why they picked him in the first round.

Tomlison actually looked better against the Jaguars’ ones than he did against the last two opposing twos. The Lions had a lot of success when running the ball with Tomlinson at the point of attack. He also did a good job of getting downfield on screens and helped keep franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford clean.
. OG. Clemson Tigers
