The early going
From the very beginning of training camp, Cooper has shown that staying with him won’t be easy. He consistently gets separation just like he did in college although it shrank from 10 yards to five. Two or three is considered wide open in the NFL so on those times it shrinks that low, he’s still open.
This preseason, Cooper has beaten veteran corner Terrance Newman of the Minnesota Vikings deep on a double move. Then the next week, against the, he got separation from four-time Pro Bowl corner Arizona Cardinals Patrick Peterson. Cooper also shook Peterson once he caught the ball and made a big play out of it.
He didn’t play Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks and Richard Sherman but Cooper has had good opposition. There’s no one in the AFC West anywhere near as good as Peterson, including Aquib Talib. So can already see that he’s going to be able to get separation from anyone he plays against.
