Nick Martin

Being the younger brother of Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin, center Nick Martin is genetically superior. And at the same time, having an older brother in the NFL gives him access to any information he needs. He knows how to take care of his body, the technical aspects of the game and the dirty little tricks offensive lineman use.

So the 6’4″, 300-pounder will be ready in every way a prospect can be ready for the NFL at season’s end. With experience as a guard, Martin is a solid run blocker that has consistently opened holes for Notre Dame’s running backs. And he’s also solid in pass protection with great awareness, always making the right protection calls.

And in his first action this year against Texas, he looked very good, showing all the aforementioned traits. I’ve heard everything from second round to middle of the first round in regards to his draft status. If he plays this whole year the way he did Saturday night, they’re going to call his name in the first round this offseason.
